Ibirá Curuzú (Palo Santo) Bundle

This Ibirá Curuzú (Ee-bee-rah Koo-roo-zoo) Palo Santo bundle, also known as "Holy Wood," is ethically and sustainably harvested in Peru. Each stick is approximately 4 inches (10 cm) long and hand-tied with natural white cotton.

Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is revered for its deep spiritual significance in cleansing and healing practices, especially among Indigenous communities of South America. Among the Runa (Roo-nah) of Peru, Palo Santo is used in healing ceremonies to cleanse spaces and bring balance to the spirit. The Achuar (Ah-choo-ar) of Ecuador use it in spiritual rituals to purify spaces and communicate with nature spirits. In the Gran Chaco region of South America, the Guaraní (Gwah-rah-nee) people call it Ibirá Curuzú, meaning "sacred tree," which is the only publicly available Indigenous word for Palo Santo. The Guaraní use Ibirá Curuzú in rituals for protection and to ward off negative energies.

This Palo Santo bundle is giving reparations, honoring the many ways it sustains and heals Indigenous communities across the world.

• Runa (Roo-nah) means "the people" in Quechua, used by Indigenous communities of the Andean highlands in Peru to refer to themselves.
  
• Achuar means "people of the aguaje palm" in their language, reflecting their deep connection to the Amazon rainforest.
  
• Guaraní means "warrior" or "fighter," a reference to their resilient history and strong cultural identity.
