Pakān (Walnut) Body Scrub
Pakān (pronounced “puh-kahn”) is the Lenape word for walnut, a tree traditionally cultivated and harvested across the woodlands of the Eastern United States.
This invigorating body scrub combines finely ground walnut shell powder with a blend of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) to gently exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. Infused with peppermint and blood orange essential oils, its scent is crisp and uplifting—awakening the senses and refreshing the spirit.
In Lenape tradition, the walnut tree is revered for its strength and resilience. Its nuts and shells have been used for nourishment, dyeing, and healing practices, symbolizing protection and endurance. The act of exfoliation mirrors these qualities, shedding the old to reveal renewed vitality beneath.
Modern formulations echo these ancestral practices. The inclusion of AHAs—such as glycolic, lactic, and citric acids—promotes cell turnover, enhancing skin texture and tone. Complemented by moisturizing agents like aloe vera and jojoba oil, this scrub leaves the skin smooth, hydrated, and radiant.
